Map Testing
Question 1. Question 2. Question 3. Yawn. To me, map testing is boring because all you do is answer pretty boring questions. They all mostly have big words that you don't understand and so you end up choosing the wrong question. Math map testing is the only one I like because I'm good at math and it's mostly word problems, adding, subtracting, multiplying, division and fractions. I think that the science testing is the hardest because they have these big words and you have to find out their meaning. The chance of that is about 1-99. I also don't like map testing because when you're not taking the map tests, you're studying for them. The only time it's different is the end of the year, after the map tests.
Befriending
I think that Rob will befriend Sistine because she was the one who shot him a look of pure hate. I think that he will tell her about the tiger and she will know about it and they become friends because of the tiger. I think that their friendship will be weak at first and then grow strong. I predict that at first Sistine won't really trust Rob. Then they find out that they have things in common: whittling wood and no mothers. That's all I can really tell about friendship.

I wish I had listened better when...
Have you ever not listened to directions and then messed up? I have. Now that April is listening awareness month, I remember a few times when I wasn't listening when I should have been. One of them was in P.E. We were out on the field, and our teacher Mr. Lee was teaching us how to throw and catch a frisbee. By the way, Mr. Lee is American, not Chinese. Anyway, I wasn't listening. The sun was shining brightly and it felt like death valley. So when he asked me to come and show the others how to catch a frisbee, I came. After all, I couldn't refuse a teacher. He threw the frisbee and it smacked my stomach. It hurt, but I guess I got what I deserved. And from then on, I always listen in P.E. even if it is boring.

Response for Chapter 1 of The Tiger Rising
In the book The Tiger Rising the author engaged me by using lots of descriptive sentences and words. For example "sullen" and "waiting for him like chained and starved guard dogs, eager t
o attack". It brought out a sort of dark feeling which is interesting because most authors have this light tone to their books. But not Kate DiCamillo. It seems like she's not afraid to bring out darkness and sad into a children's book. Because after all, The Tiger Rising is a children's book. That's what I really like about this book.
My prediction is that the blonde girl with the pink frilly dress will become friends with Rob ( the main character in the story). I think that Rob will find out the tiger belongs to the girl and that she can ride him. I can't really imagine what would happen after that.

Prediction For The Book The Tiger Rising
I think that the book The Tiger Rising is fantasy because on the front cover there's a girl riding a tiger, and in real life that wouldn't happen. In real life, the girl would be running away from the tiger. I think that I will like this book because I've read other books by the same author (who is Kate Di Camillo) and I liked them. I predict that this book will be about a girl who somehow finds a tiger and makes friends with it. Then, something bad will happen to the tiger and she will help heal it. A short while later, the tiger rescues the girl. And, in the end, they live happily ever after. Or, the story might be about a girl who grew up in the jungle and a tiger was like her mother, or friend. Then, a man came along and brought her to his village. So she lived in the village. But, she was still friends with the tiger. One day she heals the tiger when it's hurt. So, he's very grateful to her. Then, the village was attacked and the tiger saved it. And then, they lived happily ever after. I think this book will have some happy parts, funny parts and sad parts. I like books with a little bit of sadness because then it's not just happy, happy, happy which is kind of boring after a while. That's another reason why I think I'll like this book. I also really love tigers (but I like most animals except for spiders and snakes).

Greece Project and Report
In class, we're learning about ancient Greece. I was assigned to do my report and presentation on Artemis, the Greek goddess of hunt. I really like her because she's not married and she has a silver bow and arrows instead of gold. For the report part, it was all non-fiction. No I's or me's or my's. Just she and Artemis. But, for the presentation, I have to pretend I'm Artemis. I think this will be a really fun presentation because my classmates will also pretend they're a god or goddess. I can't wait!
Reflection on Blogging
For blogging, when I made an account, it was pretty easy. All I had to do was go to Blogger.com and click on create an account. But, I have to say, on the first step of creating an account, I couldn't really figure out the weird word at the bottom of the page. But after that, it was a piece of cake. I'm really happy now that I have a blog.
